Triptico!

 Triptico is fantastic for IWB resources and learning 'widgets'

check out Triptico word magnets (this resource is being phased out in favour of a better paid-for version). Wait for the old site to load after the message about the new one. Screenshot here:

Pupil 1 writes a sentence & clicks Save; Pupil 2 writes it again, correcting it or extending  it, clicks Save; Pupil 3 writes it again, corrects or expands then clicks Save.You can then review this with the class

Content Generator

 It's worth checking out  content generator    for more games and 'question-wrappers' which turn question-answer scenarios into game scenarios such as hangman, penalty shootout, basketball hoops, 'fling the teacher' etc 

DIY animations & movies

Dvolver is here  (http://www.dvolver.com/live/moviemaker.html)  You are limited to 6 speech bubbles. But it's fun and v easy to use. Get the pupils to do an animation teaching a certain point or key concept. You can also add music. Here's a sample: 

Xtranormal  lets you create text to speech animations. English only. See below: 

Zimmertwins is also worth a look, but is more suitable for primary pupils. It allows pupils to create simple characters, animate them and add text in English. Finished movies are saved to the site. 

Another Moviemaker site for pupils to work with is Digitalfilms.com 

Voki demo

Voki allows you to create text to speech with your own customised characters and backgrounds. It works superbly in lots of languages. 

Random Name / Word Generator

ClassTools

Classtools is a great site for developing simple games and revision activities.  I recommend especially:

Arcade game generator  input the quiz data & classtools converts into 5 games) - see below Random name generator (input pupil names and the fruit machine choses one. Can also be used for vocab or topic areas) Lights Out (upload a picture and 'light up' small parts for pupils to guess what it's all about) Post-It diagram creator (label a picture with virtual vocab post-its) Countdown timer   It's also good for mind maps, writing revision notes, essay scaffolding  etc  Here's  the Arcade Game Generator in action
