Welcome to the continuation of the mflteaching page. I wanted to create a new blog as it's a pain to have to scroll down for miles, sorry kilometres. Hopefully these blogs will provide lots of resources and ideas to enrich your lessons and the pupils' learning experience.
ImageChef a huge collection of customizable images, signs, cards, photo-frames, 'Wanted' posters, pizza boxes and many more. Put your message on a T-Shirt, a cinema sign, or a neon light. Short chunks of text only. Pupils can put new vocabulary into Imagechef and build a collection of unusual and funny captioned images into a presentation.

Character creation: For example: PicassoHead (faces only), Gamepuma Character creator 2, Sonic character creator. Anime Character Maker. Some of these are game sites and may be blocked by your network. They may also change or disappear without warning. In this case, just Google ' character creator'. Toondoo is a very powerful site which lets pupils create comic strips and characters. It's worth playing on some of these sites as 'post-work research therapy'. Here's my first Toondo attempt:
Picassohead has a nice touch where you can add your signature to your final chef d'oeuvre.
Pupils could follow a set of instructions in the target language to create their character. They could create a character and then describe its appearance and clothes. Ideal for parts of the face, body, head, clothes and of course adjectives.
Go Animate also has a wide range of characters, backgrounds objects and props which can be woven into a story. Great for other subjects: illustrating a historic event, a theory or a concept.
MeMoov looks good too. I need time to take a closer look but it could be useful for getting pupils to present information in a fun way. Allows text and speech to be added to animations.
GLOGSTER is a 'virtual'poster creation tool. Pupils can create artisitc posters with photos, music, graphics, video and text. A basic task could be to build a poster about family, home, town, school. Older pupils could do a 'pros and cons' piece , or a poster about a favourite person, book or film. A lot of Glogsters look rather like old vinyl album covers (for those of us old enough to remember!) GLOGSTER is here.
Prezi.com is a great non-linear alternative to Powerpoint. Don't add too much content. The zoom effects can be a bit much but you don't need to add motion paths; the alternative is to keep the presentation as a single canvas which you can magnify as necessary. Here's an example (with zooms, so have your motion sickness pills ready).
Bombay TV and Bombay TV2 let you put 3 subtitles or pieces dialogue onto short film clips. It allows text to speech in English, Spanish and French. An entertaining creative outlet. Just good post-modern fun. Not necessarily the best site for secondary language learners.
Showbeyond is another onine slidecast creator. Upload a set of photos and add text and/or audio. Podcasting with pictures is a more powerful learning tool than audio on its own.
